Following a long career in commercial banking, where I coached and mentored many colleagues as part of my role, I ‘officially’ moved into coaching in 2018, setting up BCGN (Business Coaches Growth Network).
I’ve been in the trenches of being a coach. I’ve scaled, pivoted, adapted, failed and succeeded. This isn't theory – this is lived experience.
I always wanted to create something targeted directly at helping other coaches. Where you don’t need another certification or title. You need results.

What do I do?
I help businesses by guiding them using my experience (both in business, and as a coach myself).

My strengths
I have 33 years’ commercial business experience, am an accredited Clarity4D Personality profiling coach, am emotionally intelligent, and can help clients by bring out issues they may not have realised is holding them back.

The professional bit
Peter Basford is a professional SME business coach and mentor, specialising in developing SMEs customer service, business development, sales and finance.
After 33 years in commercial, private and retail banking, Peter founded BGCN, Business Growth Coaches Network, and is co-founder of Innovation Labs Group, a series of co-working spaces with a focus on business support across East Anglia.
He is a LinkedIn trainer and Clarity4D Personality profiling accredited coach. Recently he has co-founded Start Build and Grow Ltd., who provide programmes of workshops, 1:1 coaching and peer groups for early stage businesses and growing businesses.
Additionally, Peter is an ambassador for Suffolk MIND, supports businesses owners and their staff with mental health challenges, is an active member of the regional golfing community, and supports Ipswich Town FC.
